Visit the Double Up or Info Booth
Stop by the booth and ask about Double Up. The staff will answer your questions and help get you started.

Exchange your benefits for market dollars and get MORE in Double Up dollars
Tell the market staff how much you want to spend from your SNAP card, and they will exchange your benefits for market dollars or tokens to shop with. They will also match that amount, $1 for $1, up to $30 per day (some markets may have different limits).

Shop at the market!
Use your SNAP market dollars to buy any SNAP eligible foods at the market, including bread, meat, honey, and other farm fresh foods. Double Up may be used to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables.

Shop for fresh fruits and vegetables
Only fruits and vegetables are eligible to receive Double Up at participating grocery stores in Texas.

Ask how Double Up works at your local store
When you are ready to check out, let the cashier know you’d like to Double Up. Some stores use coupons, loyalty cards, or provide an instant 50% discount on fresh fruits and veggies.

Pay with your SNAP card and Double Up!
For every dollar spent on fruits and veggies with your SNAP card, the grocery store will match dollar for dollar, up to $30 a day (limits may vary).
